It was difficult to decide on a title for this page. The baker? The artist? The artisan? The creator?
In any case, this page is about me, Rebekah – the person behind these wheat-based creations.
I was recently told that I sounded like an engineer-turned-baker when I wrote a description for the process used at “The Oven @ Harrington House and Gardens”.
By training, I’m actually a musician. But I always had an intense love and fascination for chemistry at school, and my methodical and logical brain has always fought my emotional and artistic expressions.
Fitting, perhaps, that they should come together in the creation of a product that appeals to both aspects.
I was fortunate enough to grow up in a household where nutrition was a focus, and where there was always an oversized jar of strong-smelling sourdough on the site. These fundamentals paved the way for the relationship I formed later in life with nutrition in general, and my own jar of sloppy dough that had a life of its own. Well, lots of lives, to be more accurate.
